Position Summary

Title: Electrical Technician

Role Purpose: The Electrical Technician plays a crucial role in executing preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical systems, diagnosing circuit issues, and applying technical knowledge to install, refurbish, or repair electrical apparatus as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support service requests.
  • Diagnose electrical circuit issues.
  • Repair or replace electrical components as required.
  • Recommend upgrades or modifications to electrical systems.
  • Maintain and calibrate various equipment.
  • Conduct circuit testing and analysis.
  • Interpret blueprints and wiring schematics.
  • Perform soldering on electrical components.
  • Adhere to current electrical codes and CSA standards.
  • Engage with clients effectively.
  • Comply with safety regulations and protocols.
  • Propose necessary replacement parts and manage procurement.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in optimal condition.
  • Address internal and external inquiries.
  • Ensure availability of essential tools and materials for tasks.
  • Maintain high standards across all contracts.
  • Assist in mentoring and developing junior staff members.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

  • Completion of secondary education along with vocational or technical training.
  • Red Seal Industrial Electrician certification with a preferred minimum of 10 years of experience.
  • Familiarity with RF, high voltage, and both analogue and digital components.
  • Strong knowledge of control systems, including Allen Bradley controllers, variable speed drives, and communication networks.
  • Proficient troubleshooting and work planning abilities.
