About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Financial Planner to join our team at Banque Scotia in Gatineau, Quebec. As a Financial Planner, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with clients, providing high-quality financial planning and investment advice, and helping clients achieve their unique financial goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth financial examinations for assigned clients, including retirement planning, wealth management, and estate planning, using financial planning skills and tools to support clients' financial objectives.
  • Provide reliable financial advice to clients regarding their investments and retirement planning.
  • Be autonomous and performance-driven in your approach to discovering clients' needs, listening to understand their requirements, and providing customized financial strategies and solutions.
  • Engage clients, educate them, provide relevant information, and expert advice.
  • Demonstrate a collaborative approach in relationships with peers, clients, and partners.
  • Establish relationships, focusing on providing an exceptional client experience and developing long-term relationships with existing clients.

Requirements

  • Experience in financial planning and investment sales is preferred.
  • Working towards or having achieved the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation, or equivalent, is an asset.
  • Being a certified investment professional with a current accreditation and being in good standing with the Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) or the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC) is required.
  • Being results-driven and entrepreneurial, with a minimum of supervision, and able to work independently as a motivated entrepreneur within a larger team.
  • Knowledge of competitive offerings, market trends, economic conditions, and regulatory environments.
  • Bilingualism in French and English. In accordance with the language needs assessment conducted by Banque Scotia, the selected candidate must be able to communicate in English and French for the following reason: they will serve an Anglophone and Francophone client base.
