Job Summary

The Institute for Research in Clinical Sciences (IRCM) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Associate to join our team in the Development of Neural Circuits Research Unit led by Dr. Artur Kania.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate scientific hypotheses, design, develop, and conduct experiments to test these hypotheses
  • Collaborate with the research team to prepare grant proposals for unit projects
  • Write scientific manuscripts reporting research findings
  • Develop new scientific projects in collaboration with the Unit Director

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Neuroscience or a closely related field
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence in scientific performance, as evidenced by the quality of previous publications
  • Substantial experience and expertise in one or more of the following areas: developmental biology, molecular neurobiology, neuroscience, genetics, neurophysiology
  • Advanced technical knowledge in: immunohistochemistry, RNAscope technology, neuronal tracing, stereotaxic surgery, mouse behavior analysis, neuroanatomy
  • Canadian citizenship or permanent residence

Terms of Employment

  • Temporary full-time position (2 years)
  • Contribution to the Government Employees and Public Organizations Pension Plan (RREGOP)
  • Life and health insurance
  • 13 paid statutory holidays and 10 sick leave days per year
  • 20 vacation days after one year of service
