Earth Surface Processes Researcher

We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to join our team as a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Earth Surface Processes. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain a strong research program in this area, with a focus on terrestrial natural hazards.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct innovative research in Earth surface processes, with a focus on terrestrial natural hazards
- Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in geomorphology and related fields
- Supervise graduate students and mentor junior faculty members
- Secure external funding to support research and graduate student training
- Contribute to departmental and university service, including committee work and outreach activities
- Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g. geology, geography, environmental sciences)
- Postdoctoral research experience or equivalent
- Strong publication record and potential for securing external funding
- Excellent teaching and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students
- Experience with geospatial analysis and remote sensing
- Knowledge of computational methods and programming languages (e.g. Python, R)
- Experience with teaching and mentoring students from diverse backgrounds
