Assistant/Associate Professor in Biogeochemistry

Position Overview:
The Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Dalhousie University is inviting applications for a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in Biogeochemistry, focusing on the intricate biogeochemical processes and flux dynamics along the Land to Ocean Aquatic Continuum. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in enhancing our understanding of greenhouse gas and nutrient budgets, specifically through the examination of biogeochemical cycling mechanisms between various aquatic environments including inland waters, estuaries, tidal wetlands, and continental shelf waters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain a robust, externally funded research program.
- Mentor graduate students and foster their academic growth.
- Deliver courses at both introductory and advanced levels within the Earth and Environmental Sciences curriculum.
- Contribute to the university through inter-mural and extra-mural service.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a PhD and postdoctoral experience in Biogeochemistry, Geochemistry, Hydrology, Earth System Science, or a closely related discipline. Candidates must exhibit a strong record of research excellence and productivity, along with the potential to develop independent, externally funded research initiatives. A demonstrated commitment to teaching and mentoring students is essential.
