Our facility supports a diverse range of mental health services, including inpatient care and outpatient programs, ensuring comprehensive support for our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
In your capacity as a Practical Nursing Specialist, you will:
- Utilize nursing methodologies and critical analysis to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Engage with a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes through effective communication and teamwork.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills to manage tasks efficiently in a dynamic environment.
- Advocate for patients using a holistic, person-centered approach.
- Participate in the transition of care for patients re-entering community living, ensuring continuity and support.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A completed accredited practical nursing program.
- Current registration or eligibility for practice with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA).
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification for healthcare providers.
Additional Skills:
We are looking for individuals who can:
- Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Understand relevant healthcare legislation, including the Alberta Mental Health Act.
Preferred Experience:
Candidates with the following will be given preference:
- Active Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification.
- Knowledge of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Trauma-Informed Care.
- Familiarity with mental health diagnoses and treatment modalities.
- Understanding of psychotropic medications and their implications.
