About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at The Alex. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and triage patients, directed by clinic protocol, to provide direct client care and treatment
  • Conduct initial assessments of new clients for acceptance into our care streams
  • Assess and treat minor wounds and provide routine medical procedures
  • Responsible for phlebotomy and specimen collection as directed by primary care practitioners
  • Manage and administer medications in all available formats
  • Assist patients to Specialist appointments and diagnostic imaging appointments
  • Work collaboratively with our team to support the provision of care at our clinics

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Nursing
  • Current registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses in Alberta (CLPNA)
  • Minimum of two years progressive nursing experience working with vulnerable seniors
  • Completion of the Immunization module by CLPNA or Immunization Certificate
  • Passion for working with vulnerable seniors and complex care
  • Strong skills in health promotion and illness prevention
  • Time management skills and ability to work independently

Work Environment and Hours:

  • Varied shifts, including 7.5 hour shifts, Monday through Friday
  • Possibility of weekends, depending on clinic need
  • Continuous extended periods of sitting, with occasional standing and walking

Working Conditions:

This position requires frontline staff to be exposed to emotionally disturbing events and may involve emergency response situations.
