Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Contracts Administrator to join our team at Aecon Civil, a market leader with a self-perform competitive advantage and core local strength in key markets. As a Contracts Administrator, you will collaborate with the Project Manager and work closely with the Project Internal Legal Counsel and Prime Contracts Managers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and process subcontractor invoices for submission to finance.
  • Assist the Contracts Manager or Legal/Commercial group with contract interpretation and application.
  • Support project staff with identifying, documenting, and quantifying changes in the Work and claims.
  • Act as the point of contact for contractual matters on the assigned project.
  • Document significant events on projects and maintain project change order logs.
  • Coordinate and prepare claims, and draft notices to clients of changes or events requiring notice.
  • Interface with the project team on site and prepare commercial updates to the project team and clients as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Law, Communications, or Paralegal.
  • Minimum 2-5 years of experience in contract administration in the construction industry.
  • Previous experience working for a construction company is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of legal documents, navigating contracts, and interpreting them.
  • Basic knowledge of contract administration procedures.
  • Experience in drafting and administering contracts.
  • Sound judgment and leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Good planning and time management skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products with advanced Word skills.
