Job Summary

The Director, Standards and Regulatory Compliance Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining company standards in compliance with applicable regulations. This role ensures that all company flight operations processes, policies, and new projects are developed in respect of the Air Operator Certificate (AOC) and in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Compliance Programs: Develop, implement, and maintain company standards in compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Flight Operations Quality Assurance: Ensure that all company flight operations processes, policies, and new projects are developed in respect of the AOC and in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all applicable technical and regulatory publications (CARs) necessary to Flight Operations are available and at their latest revision.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor and implement industries best practices as part of the continuous improvement program.
  • Documentation Control: Ensure that all records and documents are maintained as per CARs requirements and company policies.
  • Training and Development: Ensure that personnel qualification and training monitoring system and files are maintained and up to date.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Liaise with Transport Canada on Flight Operations topics and collaborate with the Corporate Safety, Quality and Security department.
  • Reporting and Auditing: Responsible for the reporting of Service Difficulty as per CARs and pursue corrective actions, close out audit reports when satisfactory.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g. Aviation, Business, Law)
  • Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience in quality assurance and flight operations regulation
  • Skills: In-depth knowledge of Transport Canada's procedures and regulations, holding a valid Canadian airline transport pilot licence or valid foreign licence is an important asset
  • Language: Fluency in English, both oral and written
