We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our global security deployment and compliance team at Air Canada. Key Responsibilities- Global Compliance: Lead the development and implementation of global security compliance initiatives, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Strategy Development: Design and launch a global security strategy that optimizes compliance, while minimizing operational and commercial impact.
- Regulatory Engagement: Negotiate and challenge security requirements with regulators to ensure mandates have limited impact on our operations.
- Team Leadership: Lead, develop, and motivate the Global Cargo Security Deployment and Compliance team, providing the necessary tools and training to grow team knowledge and expertise.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with various teams, including Training, Communications, Engineering, and Procedures, to effectively launch new or revised mandates.
- Communication: Organize internal and external road shows to share security screening initiatives, requirements, and solutions.
- Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve security roadblocks, maintaining active communication with operation and commercial teams.
- Vendor Management: Work closely with third-party vendors and Ground Handling Agents (GHAs) to ensure cargo screening compliance.
- Data Management: Develop a global security database to house country requirements, screening equipment, methods, protocols, vendors, and escalation contacts.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with IOSA standards, SMS, and other regulatory requirements, allocating resources to address vulnerabilities.
- Education: University degree or college diploma, with a focus on a related field.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in cargo operations and regulatory requirements.
- Leadership: Proven ability to manage direct reports, recruiting, training, and ongoing development.
- Skills: Strong negotiating, analytical, organization, and planning skills, with the ability to manage large volumes of priorities effectively.
- Risk Assessment: Understanding of risk assessment principles.
- Eligibility: Candidates must be eligible to work in the country of interest, at the time any offer of employment is made.
Based on equal qualifications, preference will be given to bilingual candidates.
