About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Mining team at EXP. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring electrical designer level staff, overseeing design concepts, and ensuring the quality of electrical engineering work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise electrical designer level staff on all their responsibilities.
  • Develop and implement electrical design concepts, ensuring proper application and execution.
  • Verify the quality of electrical engineering work, including specifications, reports, and drawings.
  • Mentor and encourage the development of designer level staff.
  • Apply EXP's risk management practices in electrical engineering.
  • Lead the design team to produce engineering/construction documents that meet project requirements within the allocated schedule and budget.
  • Have a solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and advanced concepts to execute all required aspects of discipline engineering.
  • Encourage collaboration to seek the best solutions.
  • Manage work plans and deliverables on multiple projects within budgeted hours.
  • Write studies and reports for electrical systems on projects.
  • Execute complex electrical designs with conflicting design requirements or difficult coordination.
  • Perform front-end loading of electrical systems for projects.
  • Contribute to revisions of EXP's design standards and master specifications.
  • Evaluate Value Engineering (cost cutting) items with respect to our level of risk.
  • Edit and develop the basis of design narratives documenting the project scope.
  • Develop electrical one-lines, load lists, area classifications, etc.
  • Participate in HAZOP, PHA, safety reviews.
Requirements
  • BS Electrical Engineering, or equivalent degree.
  • Registered Professional Engineer Ontario.
  • Ten (10) years' experience in the mining industry.
