About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Mining Team in Brampton, Sudbury, North Bay, Thompson, St John, or Thunder Bay office. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing electrical systems for mining projects.

Your Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement electrical designs for mining projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  2. Collaborate with designers and engineers to develop design concepts and ensure proper application and execution.
  3. Verify designer's work quality regarding specifications, reports, code application, submittal review, equipment selection, deliverables, and drawings.
  4. Apply EXP's risk management practices in electrical engineering to ensure safe and efficient project execution.
  5. Manage work plans and deliverables on multiple projects within budgeted hours.
  6. Execute complex electrical designs with conflicting design requirements or difficult coordination.
  7. Perform front-end loading of Electrical systems for projects.
  8. Contribute to revisions of EXP's design standards and master specifications.
  9. Evaluate Value Engineering (cost-cutting) items with respect to our level of risk.
  10. Edit and develop the basis of design narratives documenting the project scope.
  11. Develop electrical one-lines, load lists, area classifications, etc.
  12. Participate in HAZOP, PHA, and safety reviews.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an Accredited University.
  • EIT or Registered.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the mining or industrial industry.
