About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our mining team in Brampton, Sudbury, North Bay, Thompson, St John, or Thunder Bay office.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise electrical designer level staff, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure successful project delivery.
- Design and develop electrical systems, including power, PLC automation, instrumentation, and control systems.
- Oversee the development of design concepts, ensuring proper application and execution.
- Verify the quality of designer's work, ensuring compliance with specifications, reports, and code application.
- Mentor and encourage the development of designer level staff.
- Apply EXP's risk management practices for electrical engineering.
- Lead the design team to produce engineering/construction documents that meet project requirements within allocated schedule and budget.
- Have a solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and advanced concepts to execute all required aspects of discipline engineering.
- Encourage collaboration to seek the best solutions.
- Manage work plans and deliverables on multiple projects within budgeted hours.
- Write studies and reports for electrical systems on projects.
- Execute complex electrical designs with conflicting design requirements or difficult coordination.
- Perform front-end loading of electrical systems for projects.
- Contribute to revisions of EXP's design standards and master specifications.
- Evaluate Value Engineering (cost cutting) items with respect to our level of risk.
- Edit and develop the basis of design narratives documenting the project scope.
- High, medium, and low voltage AC and DC systems design.
- Protection & Control design.
- Develop electrical one-lines, load lists, area classifications, etc.
- Participate in HAZOP, PHA, safety reviews.
About You
We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Electrical Engineer with a strong background in the mining industry. You will have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, and be a Registered Professional Engineer in Ontario. You will have at least 10 years of experience in the mining industry, with a proven track record of delivering successful projects.
