Job Title: Business Development Manager

The Business Development Manager plays a pivotal role in driving sales growth and executing strategic priorities for DSV, a leading global supply chain solutions provider. This position requires a strong focus on collaboration, customer relationships, and innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through proactive engagement with prospective clients and cross-selling of new services to existing clients.
  • Stay abreast of market trends and competitive rate actions, providing insights to product and management teams to inform strategic decisions.
  • Develop and maintain a client lifecycle program for top clients, fostering long-term relationships and driving repeat business.
  • Build a deep understanding of target customers and assigned account base, including contact information, commodities, trade lanes, and service requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of RFQs, bids, and pricing proposals, ensuring a thorough understanding of pricing and cost components.
  • Provide weekly and monthly performance metrics to the sales administrator, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including sales presentations, deliverable development, implementation coordination, and marketing material creation.
  • Enter new customer data and sales data into CRM, maintaining accurate records in accordance with DSV company policy.
  • Meet specific volume and revenue requirements for each product in the portfolio, as designated by the General Manager, Sales.
  • Manage time and sales territory effectively, ensuring maximum exposure to the market and achieving desired sales call targets.
  • Ensure timely and effective responses to all sales leads and key correspondence, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Manage expenses and company assets in accordance with DSV corporate guidelines.
Qualifications:
  • Education in supply chain logistics, international transportation, or a related field of study, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of industry experience, with a minimum of 2 years of account management experience.
  • CIFFA certificate, an asset.

  • Excellent command of English, both verbal and written.

Language and Computer Skills:
  • English is the principal language for this position, with additional languages required in other locations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a diverse multicultural environment.
  • Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficient in Customer Relationship Management tools (CRM).
  • CargoWise experience, an asset.
Physical Demands:
  • Prolonged periods sitting and standing at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Travel required.
  • Regular working hours apply for this position, with occasional working beyond these hours required by business needs.
