Junior to Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer

Position Overview:
The Junior to Intermediate Electrical Designer will report directly to the Electrical Department Manager. We are looking for a motivated individual who is eager to contribute to a progressive and expanding organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with established project, departmental, company, client, and regulatory codes and standards while providing engineering design services utilizing technical expertise and tools.
  • Execute tasks as directed by the Discipline Lead; convert client specifications and project requirements into various design documents, including drawings and material lists.
  • Organize and name documents according to client and company standards and procedures.
  • Integrate feedback from preliminary and multi-discipline reviews into designs; confirm that designs are precise, functional, safe, and comprehensive before submission for review. Identify any gaps in information or incomplete designs to the Discipline Lead for resolution.
  • Recognize potential Change Notices or project discrepancies related to scope, budget, or schedule and communicate these to the Discipline Lead.
  • Engage in ongoing personal development to enhance engineering knowledge and maintain technical relevance.
  • Handle assignments of limited scope and complexity, primarily focused on equipment engineering design and drafting, with detailed supervision.
Qualifications:
  • 2-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Technical diploma or certificate from a recognized technology program; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • Registration with the applicable provincial governing body.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation drafting software.
  • Experience with 3D design/drafting software (e.g., AutoPlant, Plant 3D, OpenPlant).
  • Strong skills in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Excellent soft skills, including communication, multitasking, prioritization, meeting deadlines, organization, customer service, teamwork, and collaboration.
