Aecon is seeking a highly skilled Electrical & Control Engineer to join our team in supporting our engineering efforts. We are committed to delivering high-quality industrial facilities, and we're looking for a talented professional to help us achieve this goal.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical support and coordination across all aspects of electrical & instrumentation technical work streams, from early design stages to commissioning.
- Assist with proposal development and ensure that the design developed meets the technical specifications of the project.
- Perform technical reviews on HV/MV electrical systems, control & instrumentation deliverables, and protection and control systems.
- Provide technical expertise to the project team and ensure delivery of engineering in accordance with Aecon's contractual requirements and construction needs.
- Drive an inclusive culture to promote equity, welcome different perspectives, and enable career progression by fostering a sense of belonging.
- 10+ years of experience in consulting engineering firms.
- 2+ years of experience in on-site construction environments.
- Educational and industry experience requirements include an Electrical Engineering degree (or Control) with P.Eng. designation in any Canadian jurisdiction.
- Able to be a big picture thinker, be a generalist, and have a high-level understanding of other technical disciplines.
- Experience across all stages of a project lifecycle from scoping to commissioning, with a focus on design-build and contractor early contractor engagement projects.
- Strong written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills, with a passion for problem ownership and customer-first attitude.
- Proven experience in priority setting, multitasking, and working with minimal direct supervision.
- Working knowledge of electrical design standards (CSA, IEEE, ANSI/IEC) and ability to establish and manage risks.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new situations, with attention to detail and a customer-centric approach.
