Aecon is seeking a highly skilled Electrical & Control Systems Engineer to join our team in supporting our engineering efforts. We are committed to delivering high-quality industrial facilities, and we are looking for a talented individual to help us achieve this goal.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical support and coordination across all aspects of electrical & instrumentation technical work streams, from early design stages to commissioning.
- Assist with proposal development and ensure that the design developed meets the technical specifications of the project.
- Perform technical reviews on HV/MV electrical systems, control & instrumentation deliverables, and protection and control systems.
- Provide technical expertise to the project team and ensure delivery of engineering in accordance with Aecon's contractual requirements and construction needs.
- Ensure quality is managed by our engineering providers and help draft and maintain engineering project execution plans.
- Drive an inclusive culture to promote equity, welcome different perspectives, and enable career progression by fostering a sense of belonging.
- 10+ years of experience in consulting engineering firms.
- 2+ years of experience in on-site construction environments.
- Ability to collaborate in a multi-discipline, multi-stakeholder environment.
- Electrical Engineering degree (or Control) with P.Eng. designation in any Canadian jurisdiction.
- Strong written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent customer service skills and a passion for problem ownership.
- Proven experience in priority setting, multitasking, and working with minimal direct supervision.
- Working knowledge of electrical design standards (CSA, IEEE, ANSI/IEC).
- Ability to establish and manage risks.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new situations.
- Attention to details and ability to travel to site as required.
