Position Overview:
The Junior to Intermediate Electrical Designer will work under the supervision of the Electrical Department Manager, contributing to various engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to established project guidelines, departmental standards, and regulatory requirements while providing engineering design services utilizing technical expertise.
  • Execute tasks as directed by the Discipline Lead, converting client specifications and project demands into detailed drawings, sketches, and material lists.
  • Organize and file documentation according to company and client protocols.
  • Integrate feedback from preliminary and multi-disciplinary reviews into designs, ensuring accuracy, functionality, and safety before submission for review. Report any design deficiencies to the Discipline Lead.
  • Recognize potential Change Notices or project discrepancies related to scope, budget, or schedule and communicate these to the Discipline Lead.
  • Engage in ongoing personal development to enhance engineering knowledge and maintain technical proficiency.
  • Handle assignments of limited complexity, primarily focused on equipment engineering design and drafting, with detailed supervision.

Qualifications:
  • 2-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Technical diploma or certificate from an accredited technology program; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
  • Registration with the appropriate provincial governing body.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation drafting software.
  • Experience with 3D design/drafting software (e.g., AutoPlant, Plant 3D, OpenPlant).
  • Strong skills in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Excellent soft skills, including communication, multitasking, prioritization, meeting deadlines, organization, customer service, teamwork, and collaboration.
