Position Overview

The Healthcare Support Specialist role is an entry-level opportunity that requires no prior medical experience. This position is perfect for individuals keen on exploring the healthcare field while gaining valuable experience. Compensation and Benefits:

Key Responsibilities
Healthcare Support Specialists are trained to perform the following tasks:
- Accurate patient registration and administrative duties (reception, scheduling, payment collection, etc.).
- Clinical preparation of patients (hosting patients in exam rooms and conducting triage).
- Application of clinical skills and scripts appropriately.
- Proficient use of our Electronic Medical Record system (EMR Advantage).
- Maintain inventory levels through daily stocking of exam rooms and clinic areas.
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of exam rooms, waiting areas, and restrooms.
- Follow proper opening and closing procedures for the clinic.
- Manage documentation and administrative tasks as assigned.
- Opportunity to receive training in specialty programs (Travel Medicine, Allergy Testing, Foot Care, Wellbaby) after successful completion of a probationary period.
- Additional duties as required.

Qualifications

- 1-2 years of post-secondary education in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
- An undergraduate or bachelor's degree in health science, Kinesiology, General Science, or Arts is advantageous.
- Six months to one year of experience in a customer service role (retail or hospitality).
- Strong communication skills in English (spoken, written, reading, and comprehension); proficiency in other languages is a plus.
- Reliable, flexible, and committed to varying shift schedules (days, evenings, weekends).
- Willingness to work at multiple clinic locations within the region.
- Enthusiastic about personal development and continuous training.
- Must have permanent eligibility to work in Canada (Permanent Resident or Canadian Citizen) or possess a valid Work Permit.
