Data Engineer III - Sustainability Technology

At Amazon, we're committed to a sustainable future. As a Data Engineer III, you'll play a critical role in helping us achieve our goal of net-zero carbon by 2040. You'll work with our team to develop innovative data solutions that track and share sustainability metrics for our customers.

We're looking for a seasoned data engineer with a passion for sustainability. You'll have a strong background in data engineering, database engineering, and business intelligence. You'll be responsible for mentoring and leading engineers, guiding them towards best data development practices, and collaborating with users around the globe.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop data architectures built on AWS services, such as Redshift, Glue, S3, and Step Functions.
  • Lead the development of data products incrementally, integrating and managing data sets from multiple sources.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to other engineers on data engineering best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data solutions meet business needs.
Requirements
  • 6+ years of experience in data engineering, database engineering, business intelligence, or business analytics.
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering and best practices for full software development life cycle.
  • Experience with modern scripting or programming languages, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies, such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, and EMR.
