Hazelwood Construction Services, Inc., a division of The Hazelwood Group, is seeking Labourers for various projects across Vancouver Island.

Union rates apply, and all benefits are administered through the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 115.

Compensation Details

  • Hourly wage: $23.12-$35.57, based on experience and education
  • Vacation pay: 13% of your hourly wage
  • Benefits eligibility: After completing 250 hours
  • Pension contributions: $4.80 per hour worked

Job Responsibilities

The Construction Labourer will engage in various physical tasks at construction sites and will be expected to operate a range of hand and power tools. Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and cleaning worksites
  • Setting up supports for excavations
  • Clearing rubble and debris
  • Disposing of waste materials
  • Operating equipment such as jackhammers, pavement breakers, concrete mixers, and earth compactors.

Job Requirements

  • Previous experience in a manual labour role is preferred.
  • A safety-oriented mindset and approach to work.
  • Positive attitude and strong attention to detail.
  • CSA-approved steel-toed boots are mandatory.
