Job Summary
As a key member of our research team, the Interviewer will play a vital role in conducting structured interviews with participants enrolled in various studies. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

About the Role
The British Columbia Centre on Substance Use (BCCSU) is a leading organization in the field of addiction research. We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as an Interviewer. The successful candidate will be responsible for recruiting and prescreening potential study participants, conducting interviews, and assisting with data collection and entry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruit and prescreen potential study participants in accordance with study protocols.
  • Conduct structured interviews with eligible participants, adhering to informed consent procedures and ethical guidelines.
  • Review questionnaires for completeness and accuracy, and ensure all documents are entered and filed as required.
  • Process participant honoraria, including payment and recording for daily float reconciliation.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements
  • High school graduation and some additional training in a related field.
  • Minimum two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of professionalism and discretion.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in health care, social services, or social sciences.
  • Two years' experience in frontline services, preferably with marginalized populations.
  • Experience with semi-structured or structured interviewing techniques, and research experience or training.
  • Current CPR and naloxone administration training, and exceptional computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and data entry.
