Position Overview:

WSP Canada is seeking a skilled Commissioning Specialist to enhance our Commissioning Team. This role is tailored for individuals with a robust background of 5-10 years in building systems, encompassing areas such as construction, contract management, design, project oversight, and commissioning activities. Candidates with hands-on commissioning experience and familiarity with industry benchmarks like LEED, CSA, and ASHRAE will be highly regarded. Additional qualifications in engineering, testing and balancing, building operations, controls, maintenance, or system installation will be beneficial.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the execution of commissioning and related services on new construction projects, varying in type, size, and complexity.
  • Manage multiple commissioning processes concurrently, ensuring adherence to project deliverables, timelines, and financial goals.
  • Collaborate effectively with diverse internal and external project teams.
  • Establish and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Meet project objectives as outlined in Owner's Project Requirements, Construction Contract Documents, and relevant building rating systems.
  • Prepare clear and concise reports that effectively communicate technical information.
  • Conduct and document commissioning tests and related evaluations.
  • Provide technical expertise for troubleshooting building systems during the commissioning phase.
  • Identify design risks and recommend solutions to enhance project outcomes.
  • Assess installations and the operational performance of building systems for optimal efficiency.
  • Facilitate project commissioning meetings and offer commissioning-related guidance to the project team.
  • Contribute to the refinement of internal processes and documentation.
  • Draft proposals and quotations to secure new projects.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
  • Projects will primarily be located in Southern Ontario, with occasional travel to other regions as necessary. A personal vehicle is required for travel, with expenses reimbursed post-approval.
Qualifications:
  • 5-10 years of experience in building systems, specifically in commissioning.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Fluency in English is essential.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively, adapting to changing priorities.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Willingness to travel within Southern Ontario for project assignments.
  • Self-motivated, punctual, reliable, detail-oriented, and highly organized.
  • Preferred: Professional designation (e.g., E.I.T, P.Eng, AScT, CTech) and credentials related to commissioning (e.g., ACP, CCP, CxA, BCxP, LEED AP).
  • Valid Driver's License is required.
