Job Summary:

The Salvation Army is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Receptionist to provide administrative support and reception services in a fast-paced office environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to visitors, clients, and staff, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Manage the front desk, including answering and directing phone calls, responding to emails, and handling mail and packages.
  • Perform administrative tasks, such as data entry, filing, and preparing reports, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Assist with special projects and events, such as preparing materials, coordinating logistics, and providing support as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders, promoting a positive and respectful work environment.
  • Stay up-to-date with office procedures, policies, and protocols, ensuring compliance and adherence to standards.
  • Perform other duties as required, contributing to the overall success and efficiency of the office.

Working Conditions:

  • This is a part-time position, working 20 hours per week, with some flexibility in scheduling and occasional weekend or evening work.
  • The working environment is typically in the office, with generally agreeable conditions.
  • The ability to lift/move 25 pounds and work in a sitting, standing, and reaching position for periods of time is required.
  • There may be a temporary increase in hours during the Christmas season.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Completed up to 2 years of Community College, with a Business Administration Certificate preferred.
  • Alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Minimum of one (1) year of prior related experience, including administrative experience.

Skills and Capabilities:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment.
  • Adaptable, proactive, and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and complete assignments with minimal supervision.
