Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Educator to join our team at Island Health. As a Clinical Nurse Educator, you will be responsible for developing and implementing educational strategies and programs for nursing staff in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement educational programs for nursing staff in the NICU, including curriculum design, delivery, and evaluation.
  • Provide clinical education and support to nursing staff, including orientation, in-service training, and continuing education.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement evidence-based practice guidelines and policies.
  • Conduct needs assessments and evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with healthcare organizations and educational institutions to stay current with best practices and emerging trends.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from a recognized nursing program or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.
  • Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Instructor certification.
  • Current CPR Basic Rescuer certification.
  • A minimum of five years' recent tertiary NICU-related clinical experience.
  • Valid BC Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in nursing or a related field.
  • Experience in clinical education and staff development.
  • Knowledge of adult education and learning principles.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
