We are seeking a Bilingual Employment Attorney to join the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) for its Maritimes Region. This role requires proficiency in both official languages and a strong background in labor law.

Key Qualifications:

  • Must hold membership or be eligible for membership in the Law Society of New Brunswick and the Law Society of Prince Edward Island.
  • Experience in labor, human rights, and administrative law is essential.
  • Demonstrated advocacy skills and a thorough understanding of the collective bargaining process.
  • Exceptional communication abilities in both official languages, along with strong collaborative and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven initiative, effective planning, and time management capabilities.
  • Familiarity with trade union principles and the challenges faced by equity-deserving groups in the workforce.

The successful candidate will provide comprehensive legal services and guidance to union officers and staff, representing CUPE and its locals in various legal matters, including arbitration, labor board issues, human rights cases, and civil litigation.
