Position Overview

Reporting directly to the Director of Member and Business Services, the Youth Sports Program Coordinator plays a vital role in eliminating financial obstacles that hinder children's participation in organized sports by facilitating registration fee support for eligible applicants. Serving the youth of New Brunswick, the Coordinator manages all aspects of the sports initiative. Responsibilities include outreach to potential participants, securing funding, managing administrative duties, and organizing sports events for qualified children.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will be self-driven with exceptional organizational abilities, keen attention to detail, and the capacity to handle multiple tasks effectively in a dynamic environment. Bilingual proficiency in French and English is essential, along with strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to engage effectively with the public, members, and colleagues. Proficiency in technology is required (including Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, and social media platforms), as well as familiarity with data management. Previous volunteer or work experience, or internships in the sports or nonprofit sectors, will be advantageous. A demonstrated enthusiasm for promoting and developing youth sports in New Brunswick, along with an interest in fundraising and event organization, will enable the candidate to contribute positively to the mission and vision of the organization.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in sports and/or recreation
  • Experience working with children and families from diverse backgrounds, ideally in community or youth development contexts
  • Bilingualism (English and French)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience and comfort with social media platforms
  • Ability to utilize office technology, software, and applications such as MS Office and Canva

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a nonprofit environment
  • Volunteer or work experience within the sports community

Contract Details:

This position is a two-year contract with the possibility of renewal based on funding availability. Benefits are included.

Salary Range: $44,000 – $55,000
