Line Cook

We are seeking a skilled Line Cook to join our team at NEW TASTE CATERERS. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities- Food Preparation and Cooking: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods, ensuring that all dishes are presented to the highest standards.
- Customer Service: Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances, and ensure that all food is handled and cooked safely.
- Teamwork: Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food, and supervise kitchen staff and helpers to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently.
- Inventory Management: Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment, and order supplies and equipment as needed.
- Cleanliness and Safety: Clean kitchen and work areas, and inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure that they are clean and safe.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Work Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a kitchen environment.
- Language: English.
- Work Hours: 30 to 35 hours per week.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to pay attention to detail and ensure that all dishes are prepared and cooked to the highest standards.
- Repetitive Tasks: Ability to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Standing for Extended Periods: Ability to stand for extended periods while working in the kitchen.
- Client Focus: Excellent oral communication skills and ability to work with clients to ensure that their needs are met.
- Flexibility: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Judgement: Ability to make sound judgements and decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Organized: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Team Player: Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to the success of the team.
