Position Overview

The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is dedicated to delivering exceptional health services across the region. Our Diagnostic Services team is committed to providing high-quality laboratory tests, imaging procedures, and non-invasive cardiac assessments to ensure that all individuals receive the care they need, regardless of their location.

Role Summary

The Ultrasound Imaging Specialist will be an integral member of the Diagnostic Team, contributing to the provision of superior imaging services. This role involves performing ultrasound examinations as per the directives of physicians and adhering to established regional and local protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct ultrasound services while ensuring effective patient management and diagnostic file oversight.
  • Maintain equipment and supplies, ensuring a safe working environment in compliance with professional standards.
  • Participate in quality assurance programs and uphold accreditation standards.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to support patient care initiatives.

Qualifications:

Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.

Education: Must have completed an accredited Ultrasound training program.

Certification:

  • Active registration with Sonography Canada in the relevant practitioner category.
  • Alternative registration with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) may be considered.
  • Current CPR certification in accordance with employer policy.

Skills:

  • Strong oral and written communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with office applications in a Windows environment.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
  • Capacity to develop constructive relationships in a multidisciplinary environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Flexibility to work at multiple sites as required.
  • Ability to manage mental and physical demands of the role.
  • Capability to lift and carry items weighing up to 10 kg.
  • Regular travel may be necessary.
