Position Overview
The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is committed to delivering exceptional health services across the region. Our Diagnostic Services division is dedicated to providing high-quality laboratory tests, imaging procedures, and non-invasive cardiac assessments to all residents.
Role Summary
The Diagnostic Imaging Sonographer will be an integral member of our Diagnostic Team, responsible for delivering superior imaging services. This role involves performing ultrasound examinations as per physician requests, managing patient care, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Main Responsibilities:
- Conduct ultrasound services as per established protocols and physician directives.
- Manage patient interactions and ensure effective communication throughout the imaging process.
- Oversee diagnostic file management and maintain necessary equipment and supplies.
- Uphold a safe working environment in accordance with professional guidelines.
- Participate in quality assurance programs and adhere to accreditation standards.
Qualifications:
Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
Education: Graduation from an accredited Ultrasound training program is required.
Licensure:
- Active registration with Sonography Canada in the relevant practitioner category.
- For those with ARDMS registration, competency must be validated by management.
- Current CPR certification in line with employer policies.
Skills:
- Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with office applications.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Capacity to build constructive relationships in a multidisciplinary environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Willingness to work at multiple sites as needed.
- Ability to handle physical demands, including lifting items up to 10 kg.
- Flexibility to manage frequent interruptions and travel within the service area.
