The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is dedicated to delivering exceptional health services to the community. Our Diagnostic Services division plays a vital role in providing high-quality laboratory tests and imaging procedures to ensure that all patients receive accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.
Role Summary
The Ultrasound Imaging Specialist will be an integral member of our Diagnostic Team, responsible for performing ultrasound examinations as per physician requests. This role requires a commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment, adhering to professional standards and quality assurance protocols.
Main Responsibilities:
- Conduct ultrasound services in accordance with established regional and local guidelines.
- Manage patient interactions and ensure effective communication regarding exam requests and results.
- Oversee diagnostic file management and maintain equipment and supply inventory.
- Uphold safety standards and compliance with accreditation requirements.
- Assist with additional duties such as radiographic or ECG tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
Education: Must possess a degree from an accredited Ultrasound training program.
Certification:
- Active registration with Sonography Canada in the relevant practitioner category.
- Alternatively, registration with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) may be accepted, contingent upon competency verification.
- Current CPR certification is required.
Skills:
- Strong oral and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with office applications in a Windows environment.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Ability to build constructive relationships in a multidisciplinary environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Flexibility to work at multiple health sites as required.
- Ability to manage physical and mental demands of the role.
- Capability to lift and carry items weighing up to 10 kg.
- Willingness to travel within the service area as necessary.
