Job Title: ECE Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced ECE Assistant to join our team. As an ECE Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of our child care centre and contributing to the development of our children.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in Housekeeping and Cooking Duties: Assist co-workers in maintaining a clean and safe environment, and prepare healthy snacks and meals for the children.
  • Develop and Implement Child-Care Programs: Collaborate with early childhood educators to design and implement programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Maintain Daycare Equipment: Ensure that all equipment and toys are in good condition and meet safety standards.
  • Storytelling and Activities: Engage children in activities such as storytelling, singing songs, and preparing crafts to promote creativity and learning.
  • Record Keeping: Assist early childhood educators in maintaining accurate records of children's progress and development.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and other stakeholders to ensure the well-being and success of every child.
Requirements:
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a child care setting.
  • Certifications: Emergency child care first aid and CPR, Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, and CPR Certificate.
  • Language: English.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:

The ECE Assistant will be required to perform repetitive tasks, work in a physically demanding environment, and have attention to detail. The role will also require a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, as well as bending, crouching, and kneeling.
