Job Title: ECE Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced ECE Assistant to join our team. As an ECE Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of our child care centre and contributing to the development of our children.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in Child Care Programs: Assist co-workers in housekeeping and cooking duties, develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Maintain a Safe and Healthy Environment: Maintain daycare equipment, ensure the overall situation of the children is synthesized and communicated to parents, and assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Lead Activities and Engage Children: Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest, encourage children to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity.
  • Support Administrative Tasks: Assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records, submit written observations on children, and discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings.
  • Collaborate with Team Members: Establish guidelines for behaviour, attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children, and establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children.
Requirements:
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a child care setting.
  • Certifications: Emergency child care first aid and CPR, Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, and CPR Certificate.
