Claims Representative

At Definity, we're seeking a skilled Representative, Claims to join our team. As a key member of our claims department, you'll play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring timely resolution of automobile claims.
Key Responsibilities:- Investigate and settle first-party automobile claims in a fair and accurate manner.
- Provide prompt, courteous, and professional service to customers, both internal and external.
- Manage auto telephone claims until they are resolved, ensuring a seamless customer experience.
- Explain the claim process to customers in a clear and concise manner, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
- Verify whether claims are covered under a customer's policy, ensuring accurate and timely resolution.
- Work with customers and preferred vendors to determine the best course of action for resolving claims.
- Maintain detailed file records, accurately documenting all pertinent information.
- Process claims payments within your authority level, ensuring timely and accurate payment.
- Initiate salvage and subrogation procedures on assigned claims, as necessary.
- Minimum high school diploma required.
- Experience handling automobile claims, with a good understanding of terminology and auto policies.
- Previous customer service and call centre experience is a definite asset.
- Excellent keyboarding skills and ability to navigate through numerous screens and systems quickly and easily.
- Professional, friendly, and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers.
- Able to thrive under pressure and remain calm, even in challenging situations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Bilingualism is considered an asset.

Actual salary for the role may vary depending on work location of the successful candidate and other factors including but not limited to, skills, education, experience, working conditions and the local labour market. In addition to base pay, eligible employees may participate in various incentive plans which are paid out at the discretion of the company and subject to individual and company performance.
