Job Summary

The Government of Alberta is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will provide leadership and expertise in the development of innovation system strategies, programs, and grant management for Alberta.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to support economic growth and prosperity through research and innovation capacity growth projects.
  • Lead the implementation of updates and renewals of programs, as well as the creation of new programs.
  • Provide operational and analytical services to ensure alignment and consistency with relevant legislation, regulations, policies, directives, and guidelines.
  • Determine, implement, and continually improve system-wide processes, strategies, and funding allocations.
  • Integrate and coordinate business processes and practices across the branch to facilitate and support achievement of objectives.

Requirements

  • Strategic thinking to provide advice and recommendations to leadership.
  • Ability to understand financial analysis/program budgeting.
  • Ability to coordinate information from multiple sources.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong comprehension of funding programs and usage of data.
