Supplier Credit Specialist

The Accounts Payable division is seeking a dedicated professional with expertise in managing merchandise return claims from suppliers. This role is essential for securing credits and executing claim/credit reconciliations effectively.
Key Responsibilities:- Process supplier merchandise return claims (debit memo/RMF) received from retail locations.
- Verify that all necessary documentation related to return claims is complete and available.
- Maintain an organized master claim file by logging all claims.
- Engage with suppliers to ensure the collection of all due credits.
- Identify and reconcile discrepancies between received credits and claimed amounts.
- Compile copies of credits identified in weekly Visa reports from stores.
- Manage monthly gross profit adjustments.
- Address complex variances in claim/credit reconciliations, collaborating with operations managers and distribution centers as needed.
- Conduct large returns and credit reconciliations, utilizing Excel proficiency.
- Assist in preparations for inventory cut-offs at stores, ensuring all claims are accounted for and supporting the Specialized Inventory Clerk in finalizing cut-off files.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- AEC, DEP, or equivalent, with 3 to 5 years of experience in a high-volume environment, particularly in collections and accounts payable.
- Bilingual proficiency in written and spoken communication.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Problem-solving skills within established guidelines.
- Advanced proficiency in computer systems and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
