Job Title: Domestic Housekeeper

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Domestic Housekeeper to join our team at Barry Glotman. As a key member of our household staff, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our home.

Responsibilities:
  • Housekeeping: Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors, dust furniture, vacuum carpeting, area rugs, draperies, and upholstered furniture, make beds, and change sheets.
  • Laundry and Linens: Distribute clean towels and toiletries, stock linen closet, and perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties.
  • Kitchen and Bathroom: Clean, disinfect, and polish kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances.
  • Guest Services: Attend to guests' requests for extra supplies or other items, provide basic information on facilities, and pick up debris and empty trash containers.
  • Errands and Shopping: Shop for food and household supplies.
  • Special Tasks: Mend clothing and linens, wash windows, walls, and ceilings, and clean changing rooms and showers.
Requirements:
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Environment: Non-smoking, outdoors.
  • Work Setting: Work in employer's/client's home, private residence, employer's home.
  • Physical Capabilities: Ability to work independently, fast-paced environment, tight deadlines, repetitive tasks, physically demanding, attention to detail, bending, crouching, kneeling.
  • Weight Handling: Up to 9 kg (20 lbs).
  • Tools/Equipment: Uniform.
  • Personal Suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills, flexibility, initiative, organized, reliability, team player, honesty.
Support for Persons with Disabilities:

  • Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports Veterans.
  • Offers mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for Veterans.
Support for Indigenous People:
  • Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports Indigenous people.
  • Offers mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations.
Support for Mature Workers:
  • Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports mature workers.
  • Applies hiring policies that discourage age discrimination.
  • Provides staff with awareness training to create a welcoming work environment for mature workers.
Support for Visible Minorities:
  • Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports members of visible minorities.
