Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee, schedule, and manage team members, including Automotive Technicians, Service Advisors, and Parts Department staff, to ensure team objectives and service goals are met.
  • Collaborate with other department managers to enhance operational efficiency and improve processes.
  • Deliver an exceptional customer service experience by maintaining customer relationships, ensuring repeat business, providing quality service, recommending optimal products and services, and promptly addressing customer concerns.
  • Establish processes and standards to guarantee customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
  • Conduct regular audits of work and customer service to ensure all standards are upheld and that repair work is performed effectively and thoroughly.
  • Mentor, coach, train, and support the development of all staff members.
  • Monitor and control department expenses.
  • Promote and maintain a healthy and safe work environment.
  • Manage daily Service and Parts workflow.
  • Actively track and improve all performance indicators, including gross sales, profitability, customer loyalty, and CSI.
  • Forecast departmental goals and objectives and strive to achieve them.
  • Maintain effective relationships with OEM representatives.
  • Work closely with the administrative department to ensure all outstanding financial matters are addressed promptly and accurately.
  • Procure shop equipment and oversee maintenance records.
  • Manage warranty submissions effectively.
  • Maintain a current parts inventory that is under 12 months old through efficient inventory management.

What You Need for Success

  • Previous experience at a Hyundai dealership is considered an asset or experience in parts and service.
  • Customer-focused team player with attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
  • Positive attitude with exceptional communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills to accomplish daily tasks.

Capabilities and Credentials

  • Minimum of 3 years of management experience in the automotive service industry.
  • Valid BC Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Professional demeanor and strong work ethic.
  • Experience in front office parts and service.
  • High level of integrity.
  • Working knowledge of industry standards and practices, including product details and services offered.
  • Experience with service applications such as ADP/CDK, including dispatch.
  • Ability to train, coach, direct, and motivate automotive technicians, service advisors, and shop supervisors.
  • Desire to make a positive impact every day and contribute to building a great team.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and respond to customer needs promptly.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of interacting with customers and staff in a professional and tactful manner, both over the phone and in person.
  • Strong teamwork skills.
  • A persistent problem solver.
