Clinical Speech Pathologist II

Position Overview:
This is a unique chance to engage with school-aged children as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team composed of healthcare and educational professionals. The Speech Pathologist II role is essential in delivering a comprehensive array of speech and language services within the Children, Youth & Families – Addiction & Mental Health program. Collaboration with families and significant community stakeholders is key to providing services that encompass identification, assessment, consultation, direct therapy, group intervention, community education, and preventive initiatives.
Role Responsibilities:
As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will engage in clinical practice both autonomously and collaboratively within a team framework, which may include external collaborators. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing prevention and health promotion services.
- Conducting identification and assessment procedures.
- Implementing intervention strategies and case management.
- Participating in the planning, coordination, and delivery of rehabilitation services in partnership with patients, families, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders.
Your leadership and interpersonal skills will be invaluable in mentoring students and offering clinical direction to colleagues as necessary. You will leverage your clinical expertise to contribute to ongoing quality enhancement, service integration, and program innovation.
Required Qualifications:
A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology is essential. You must possess active or eligible registration and a practice permit with the Alberta College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in psychiatric settings with children and youth is preferred.
