Registered Practical Nurse, Trauma Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our team at CB Canada. As a Registered Practical Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.
Key Responsibilities- Provide nursing care to patients across various units, ensuring seamless services and programs delivery.
- Contribute to fluctuating patient care needs, adhering to CNO standards, RNAO Best Practice Guidelines, and specific program philosophy.
- Administer psychiatric and non-psychiatric medications and treatments, ensuring necessary clinical assessments are initiated.
- Engage with interdisciplinary teams and individual team members, acting as a preceptor, mentor, coach, or resource nurse as required.
- Participate in clinical discussions, team meetings, and patient/family conferences, accepting changing work assignments as directed by supervisor and/or delegate.
- Current registration as an RPN with the College of Nurses of Ontario, in good standing.
- Up to 6 months of experience in general nursing practice, with experience working with patients with a substance use disorder an asset.
- Current CPR certification, knowledge of the Mental Health Act (MHA), and documentation standards (CNO), and privacy legislation (PHIPPA).
- Knowledge of CBT/DBT and CPT is an asset, as well as experience with group facilitation.
- Ability to effectively manage crisis situations and deal with acutely ill patients, with current knowledge and experience of assessment and treatment of psychiatric disorders.
- Previous training in boundaries, suicide awareness, and medication administration is an asset, with ability to work independently and with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Proficient computer skills, and experience working with a number of systems and software applications.
