About the Role

The City of Kamloops is seeking a highly skilled Municipal Design Technician to contribute to our team of dedicated professionals. You will play a vital role in developing and implementing municipal infrastructure projects, utilizing your expertise in AutoCAD and Autodesk Civil 3D software.

Your Responsibilities

  • Create detailed designs for various municipal projects, including roads, sidewalks, multi-use paths, roundabouts, water mains, sanitation systems, and storm drainage incorporating green infrastructure principles.
  • Provide precise information on service locations to field crews and the public.
  • Produce and maintain accurate record drawings for all completed projects.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for a meticulous and organized individual with a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a two-year Computer Aided Design and Drafting program or a Diploma in Civil Engineering.
  • Proven experience in municipal design using AutoCAD and Autodesk Civil 3D software.
  • The ability to obtain certification as a Civil Technologist (AScT) or a Civil Technician (CTech) with the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of British Columbia within 12 months.
  • A valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence.
