Job Title: Engineering Design Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Design Technician to join our team at the City of Kamloops. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for creating complex municipal designs and drafting projects using AutoCAD and Autodesk Civil 3D software.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and draft municipal infrastructure projects, including roads, sidewalks, and storm drainage systems.
  • Produce detailed drawings and documentation for field crews and the public.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other stakeholders to ensure design accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Develop and maintain records of design projects and drawings.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a two-year Computer Aided Design and Drafting program or a Diploma in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum three years' experience in municipal design using AutoCAD and Autodesk Civil 3D software.
  • Ability to acquire certification as a Civil Technologist (AScT) or a Civil Technician (CTech) with the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of British Columbia within 12 months.
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence.
