Position Summary:
As an Automotive Parts Advisor, you will play a crucial role in managing parts orders for vehicle service and collision repairs. You will collaborate closely with our service team to deliver exceptional customer service to our clients. This position requires a personable approach as you will engage in consumer sales and develop relationships with wholesale clients. Additionally, you will oversee inventory management, including unpacking shipments and ensuring accurate order fulfillment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing inventory and ordering parts in a fast-paced environment
- Build rapport with both wholesale and retail customers, both in-person and over the phone
- Identify customer needs to locate required parts or services and suggest related options
- Monitor inventory levels, reorder supplies, and handle special orders as necessary
- Support the Parts Manager in resolving discrepancies between inventory records and actual stock
- Gather necessary information for special orders and ensure accurate sourcing of parts
- Research part availability within the dealership and from external sources as needed
- Contribute to a cohesive team environment focused on providing the best experience for our Parts, Service, and Sales customers
Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of experience in an automotive dealership or Parts Department
- Completion of a relevant post-secondary program or training is an asset
- Familiarity with inventory management systems is advantageous
- Strong understanding of Parts and Service operations
- Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Professional demeanor with a commitment to integrity
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and resourceful
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other office software
- Ability to meet physical demands, including lifting and standing for extended periods
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
