About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our team at AECOM. As a key member of our geotechnical practice, you will be responsible for leading complex projects and providing technical expertise to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead geotechnical projects from conceptual design to completion, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to junior engineers and technicians, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure project success.
  • Conduct site investigations, interpret data, and develop geotechnical designs and reports.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate geotechnical expertise into project solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and regulatory requirements, applying this knowledge to improve project outcomes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering, with a strong background in earthquake engineering, probabilistic seismic hazard analysis, and liquefaction analysis.
  • Eligibility for P. Eng. registration in Canada within a year.
  • Advanced knowledge of finite element theory, constitutive models, and seepage analysis.
  • Expertise in software such as FLAC, PLAXIS, and DEEPSOIL.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters or Ph.D. degree in Geotechnical Engineering from a CEAB-accredited institution.
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering on complex multidisciplinary projects.
  • Experience in client service, business development, and project management.
  • Strong understanding of seismic hazard analysis, liquefaction assessment, and seismic design.
  • Ability to interpret seismic hazard reports and apply this knowledge to seismic design.
