About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Geotechnical Specialist to join our team at AECOM. As a key member of our geotechnical practice, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on geotechnical engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead geotechnical engineering projects from conceptual design to final design and construction
  • Manage and mentor junior engineers and technicians
  • Develop and implement geotechnical design solutions for complex projects
  • Conduct site investigations and interpret geotechnical data
  • Prepare and present technical reports and proposals
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering
  • 6+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a focus on earthquake engineering and probabilistic seismic hazard analysis
  • Eligible for P. Eng. registration in Canada within a year
  • Expert knowledge of geotechnical software, including FLAC, PLAXIS, and DEEPSOIL
  • Strong communication and project management skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters or Ph.D. degree in Geotechnical Engineering from a CEAB-accredited institution
  • 10+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering on complex multidisciplinary projects
  • Experience in client service and business development
  • Strong understanding of finite element theory for soil and rock
  • Knowledge of elastic, elastoplastic, and advanced constitutive models for linear and nonlinear materials
