About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our team at AECOM. As a key member of our geotechnical practice, you will be responsible for leading complex projects and providing technical expertise to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead geotechnical projects from conceptual design to completion, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Develop and implement geotechnical designs and solutions for major infrastructure projects, including transportation, water resources, and civil infrastructure.
  • Manage and mentor a team of geotechnical engineers and technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure project success.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement project plans, ensuring alignment with client objectives and AECOM's business goals.
  • Conduct site investigations, laboratory testing, and data analysis to inform geotechnical design and decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and industry partners to promote AECOM's geotechnical services and expertise.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to ensure AECOM's geotechnical practice remains at the forefront of innovation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a strong background in geotechnical earthquake engineering, probabilistic seismic hazard analysis, and liquefaction analysis.
  • Eligible for P. Eng. registration in Canada within a year.
  • Advanced knowledge of finite element theory, constitutive modeling, and seepage analysis.
  • Experience with FLAC, PLAXIS, and DEEPSOIL software.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters or Ph.D. degree in Geotechnical Engineering from a CEAB-accredited institution.
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering on complex multidisciplinary projects.
  • Expertise in client service and business development, with a strong understanding of the geotechnical industry and market trends.
  • Ability to travel within Canada when required.
