Position Summary

The Faculty of Kinesiology and Health Studies at the University of Regina is seeking a highly motivated and collaborative academic leader to fill a three-year term position in its growing Human Kinetics program with a focus on biomechanics.

The successful applicant will be responsible for teaching six courses per year in our undergraduate and graduate programs, as well as engaging in research through the supervision of graduate and undergraduate honours students.

We are seeking a scholar who can contribute to the achievement of our Strategic Priorities: (a) Student Success, (b) Quality Programs, Academics & Research, and (c) Community Connections.

Position Requirements

Our ideal candidate will have earned a PhD in Human Kinetics, Kinesiology, or a related discipline, with a concentration in biomechanics and a proven track record of teaching undergraduate and graduate courses associated with the Human Kinetics major.

They will have the ability to teach courses primarily in biomechanics, clinical biomechanics, and ergonomics, as well as supervise research-focused students at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Professional certifications and applied experiences in the field would be a valuable asset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach six courses per year in undergraduate and graduate programs
  • Engage in research through the supervision of graduate and undergraduate honours students
  • Contribute to the achievement of Strategic Priorities
  • Teach courses in biomechanics, clinical biomechanics, and ergonomics
  • Supervise research-focused students at the undergraduate and graduate levels

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in Human Kinetics, Kinesiology, or a related discipline
  • Concentration in biomechanics
  • Proven track record of teaching undergraduate and graduate courses
  • Ability to teach courses in biomechanics, clinical biomechanics, and ergonomics
  • Professional certifications and applied experiences in the field
