Job Title: Legal Researcher

We are seeking a highly skilled Legal Researcher to join our team at Davies Bagambiire Professional Corporation. As a Legal Researcher, you will be responsible for conducting research and analysis to support our legal team in preparing for trials, mediations, and other legal proceedings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research and analysis to gather evidence and information for legal cases
  • Assemble documentary evidence in preparation for trial
  • Co-ordinate administrative services to support the legal team
  • Interview clients, witnesses, and other related parties to gather information
  • Perform clerical duties, such as maintaining filing systems
  • Write trial briefs and other legal documents
  • Research records, court files, and other legal documents to support legal cases
  • Schedule court trials and arrange pre-trial conferences and hearings
  • Assist lawyers in preparation for mediation and judicial dispute resolutions
  • Represent clients internationally in consultation with foreign associates and attorneys
  • Draft legal correspondence and write and edit for legal publications
  • Recommend legal action or discontinuation of service
  • Complete legal documentation and analyze and interpret data
  • Research and retrieve archival materials and research legal precedents and gather evidence
  • Draw up legal documents and prepare statements of legal opinion
Requirements:
  • 5 years or more of experience in a related field
  • Excellent research and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing priorities
