Job Title: Legal Researcher

We are seeking a highly skilled Legal Researcher to join our team at Davies Bagambiire Professional Corporation. As a Legal Researcher, you will be responsible for conducting research and analysis on various legal matters, preparing documents, and providing support to our lawyers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research and analysis on legal matters, including reviewing case law, statutes, and regulations.
  • Prepare documents, such as trial briefs, memoranda, and other legal documents.
  • Provide support to our lawyers, including assisting with court proceedings, preparing for trials, and coordinating administrative services.
  • Interview clients, witnesses, and other related parties to gather information and evidence.
  • Perform clerical duties, such as maintaining filing systems and scheduling court trials.
  • Write and edit legal correspondence, including letters, emails, and reports.
  • Recommend legal action or discontinuation of service, based on research and analysis.
  • Analyze and interpret data, including statistical and financial data.
  • Research and retrieve archival materials, including documents and records.
  • Research legal precedents and gather evidence, including conducting interviews and gathering documents.
Requirements:
  • Doctorate degree in law or a related field.
  • 5 years or more of experience in a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills, including the ability to conduct thorough research and analyze complex data.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with clients, lawyers, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with tight deadlines and a large workload.
  • Attention to detail, including the ability to maintain accurate and organized records.
