Position Overview:

Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Advertising Manager plays a crucial role in executing all traditional and digital marketing strategies. This position involves meticulous planning, coordination, execution, tracking, reporting, and analytics of marketing initiatives. The incumbent will oversee a comprehensive production schedule, focusing on direct mail, radio, and various print communications throughout all production phases. The role also encompasses managing email marketing projects from initial concept and design to full implementation. A strong grasp of digital platforms, internet technologies (HTML, CSS), and online marketing principles is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Advertising Management

  • Oversees the development and execution of marketing campaigns from inception to completion. Manages the creation of print advertising materials such as postcards, brochures, event collateral, self-mailers, premium invitations, posters, and large signage.
  • Coordinates with external agencies for media planning, creative development, and execution.
  • Monitors and manages budget expenditures, accruals, reporting, and invoicing.
  • Engages with external account executives to explore advertising opportunities and adjusts strategies based on competitive analysis.
  • Facilitates internal coordination of all marketing communication outputs.
  • Identifies optimal media usage across various platforms, including print, broadcast, digital, and out-of-home advertising.
  • Establishes performance metrics to evaluate cost-effectiveness and return on investment, reporting findings to the Director and relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with creative teams and vendors to enhance production processes for new and existing marketing materials.
  • Ensures adherence to brand standards and regulatory requirements across all media formats.
  • Develops detailed specifications for departmental communication strategies.
  • Maintains strict adherence to deadlines while proactively communicating any potential delays to stakeholders.
  • Participates in marketing brainstorming sessions, contributing valuable insights for marketing strategies.
  • Oversees the development of team members, including accountability, training, and performance assessments.
  • Performs additional duties as required.
  • Exhibits professional conduct in compliance with all relevant regulations.

Digital Marketing

  • Responsible for testing various platforms and designs, implementing best practices for templates, and staying updated on email and digital marketing trends.
  • Provides strategic marketing insights and recommendations to improve customer acquisition and retention.
  • Works closely with the database marketing team to ensure project timelines are met.
  • Conducts audits of content strategies and suggests improvements.
  • Reviews monthly content calendars for accuracy and relevance.
  • Maintains brand integrity and strategy in social media campaigns.
  • Captures engaging content during events, promotions, or special activities.
  • Collaborates with agencies to plan content creation and ensure timely posting across channels.
  • Assists with influencer marketing initiatives as needed.
Qualifications:
Experience, Education, and Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Advertising, Marketing, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in Marketing/Advertising, preferably within an agency setting or a similar industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in graphic design software such as Photoshop and InDesign.
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics, SEO/SEM practices, and Google DoubleClick ad server.
  • Ability to obtain necessary registrations as required by regulatory bodies.
Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of media buying practices in Ontario and Canada.

Physical Demands
  • The role is typically performed in an indoor, climate-controlled office environment. The incumbent may encounter casino-related factors such as noise, large crowds, and high-pressure situations while servicing guests. The ability to stand for extended periods and navigate through various areas is necessary.

The casino environment is dynamic, fast-paced, and often bustling with activity. Exposure to noise and interaction with the general public is common.
